We are currently seeking a Real Estate Closer to join our team! The ideal candidate will play a key role in ensuring smooth, accurate closings for our members.
Key Responsibilities
- Take ownership of preparing and reviewing final mortgage closing documentation.
- Ensure all compliance and underwriting requirements are met before disbursement.
- Work closely with loan processors, originators, and closing agents to answer questions and provide solutions.
- Maintain detailed knowledge of regulations, investor guidelines, and credit union policies.
- Safeguard member information by following top-tier security procedures.
Qualifications
- Minimum of one year of general lending experience is required.
- Minimum of three years' experience in mortgage lending field is preferred.
- High School diploma, GED, or HSED is required.
- Strong communication skills with the ability to interact effectively with colleagues and external parties.
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office (Word, Excel and Outlook) and mortgage lending software.
- Ability to be organized, maintain accuracy, and pay attention to detail.
- Ability to make sound decisions and resolve issues efficiently.
- Uphold Altra's brand principles and provide exceptional member service.
Availability
- This position is 40-hours a week, Monday through Friday.
- Typical hours are 8:00 a.m. to 5:00 p.m.
Work Environment
- This position is located at Altra's Operations Center in Onalaska, WI
- However, work from home / remote opportunities can be considered for those candidates who live within Altra's approved remote states: CO, FL, GA, IA, MI, MN, NJ, NC, TN, TX, and WI.

- Competitive starting hourly pay, based on previous experience.
- When bilingual in Spanish or Hmong, receive a $1.00 per hour pay premium after completing and passing the language exam.
