Overview & Responsibilities
The Senior Accountant is an experienced Certified Public Accountant (CPA) that will demonstrate expertise in a variety of personal and corporate accounting practices, including payroll and tax. This position will work with a team of accountants and report directly to the President of the Accounting Department. The Senior Accountant must be highly accurate and efficient, utilizing vast knowledge of the current tax code, upholding an exceptional standard of client service, and above all else, provide consistent, accurate accounting services to clients daily. In addition, this position is responsible for the preparation of tax returns during tax season.
- Conduct tax interviews with clients
- Request, collect, and compile all necessary documents
- Review corporate and personal income tax returns
- Advise business owners and individuals regarding the tax code
- Process state and federal payroll taxes
- Maintain and garner new client relationships
- Monitor and mentor/train junior staff, clerks, and bookkeepers
- Detect and address potential compliance issues proactively
- Maintain compliance with all state and federal regulations at all times
- Uphold the excellent reputation of our firm
- Maintain constant communication with IRS, State Agencies, and our clients
- Provide tax consults and onboarding for new clients
- Maintain highly organized and updated client files
- Work collaboratively with other team members to achieve shared goals

Requirements
Education & Experience
- Bachelor’s degree required; concentration in accounting required
- At least three years of CPA experience in a corporate setting required
- Certified Public Accountant (CPA) license in good standing required
- Corporate and personal tax experience preferred

Physical Requirements
- Prolonged periods of remaining in a stationary position at a desk and working on a computer
- Work is performed in an office environment and constantly operates a computer, keyboard, and mouse in addition to other office equipment such as copy machine, computer printer, calculator, etc.
- Occasionally move about inside the office to access file cabinets, office equipment, etc.
- Occasionally moves office equipment weighing up to 25 pounds for various office needs
