Description
The Senior Manager of Federal Government Relations role will support and advance the Consumer Data Industry Association’s federal advocacy and political engagement efforts. This role is responsible for building and maintaining strong relationships with federal policymakers and stakeholders; managing the day-to-day operations of the CDIA Political Action Committee (PAC); monitoring and analyzing legislative and regulatory developments; and supporting CDIA members’ engagement on key policy priorities impacting the financial services and credit reporting ecosystem. Working closely with the Senior Vice President of Government Relations, this position plays a critical role in advancing CDIA’s policy objectives through strategic advocacy, effective communications, and collaboration with internal teams, members, and external partners.
Key Responsibilities
Build and maintain beneficial relationships and engage in advocacy outreach with Members of Congress, congressional staff, executive branch officials, independent federal agency officials, and a broad range of Washington, DC stakeholders.
Manage the day-to-day operations of the CDIA PAC, including budget oversight, enrollment and disbursement activities, ensuring compliance with all applicable federal election laws requirements, stakeholder engagement programming and communications, PAC Board meetings, and fundraising event participation.
Monitor, analyze, and assess proposed federal legislation and regulations impacting CDIA member organizations.
Develop policy materials including talking points, legislative summaries, testimony, and official comments, as appropriate.
Coordinate timely and appropriate responses to inquiries from government officials and external stakeholders.
Collaborate with and support internal initiatives that involve or impact CDIA stakeholders.
Assist in the management of outside consultants, including advocacy strategy development, deliverables, and weekly coordination meetings.
Identify opportunities and support CDIA member participation in Washington-based meetings, briefings, and events.
Work closely with the Senior Vice President of Government Relations to develop and maintain effective policy updates and communications.

Requirements
Bachelor’s degree required.
5–7 years of federal advocacy experience; trade association or corporate government relations experience preferred.
Experience with corporate or trade association Political Action Committees strongly preferred.
Ability to meet and maintain federal lobbyist registration requirements, as applicable.
Demonstrated knowledge of financial services policy, including credit reporting, housing and mortgage policy, fair lending, financial inclusion, student lending, data privacy, and emerging technologies.
Excellent written and oral communication skills.
