We are a growing consulting firm seeking a health actuary with a deep understanding of the nuances of health insurance modeling, pricing and reserving, and an appreciation of the state and federal regulatory environment. This role involves providing actuarial insights to governmental agencies, conducting complex actuarial analysis, and ensuring compliance with federal and state regulations. Responsibilities include:
Developing and maintaining pricing, reserving, and forecasting health insurance models
Analyzing claims experience, utilization trends, and risk adjustment impacts
Providing actuarial support for health policy review and analysis
Preparing detailed reports and presentations for stakeholders, summarizing findings and recommendations
Staying current on industry trends, regulations, and actuarial best practices
Requirements
Bachelor’s degree in Mathematics, Statistics, Economics, Actuarial Science, or a related field.
ASA or FSA with seven or more years of experience
Deep working knowledge of the Affordable Care Act (ACA), and/or Medicaid health market
Strong proficiency in financial modeling, risk analysis, and forecasting techniques
Strong analytical, communication, problem solving and time management skills
Experience with tools such as SAS, VBA, R, Python, or similar platforms is a plus
Proficient in Microsoft Office products; expert level in Excel
Proficiency in data visualization tools such as Tableau or Power BI is a plus
Ability to work independently and within a team and to foster teamwork in a dynamic consulting environment
Exemplary level of personal and professional integrity
