Finance & Accounting Accountant (Banking) - 12 months contract (convertible to perm) Overview

Support the day-to-day finance operations of the Bank, ensuring timely processing of payments, accurate account reconciliations, and preparation of internal and regulatory financial reports.
Responsibilities

1. Handle reconciliations for bank accounts and investigate outstanding items
2. Prepare accounting entries related to operational transactions and monthly finance activities
3. Process staff expense claims, vendor invoices, and intercompany settlements
4. Support payment runs and cash funding requirements for branch operations
5. Monitor suspense accounts and liaise with stakeholders on outstanding issues
6. Assist in the preparation of periodic financial and management reports for Head Office and regulators
7. Support year-end reporting, audit matters, and financial statement disclosures
8. Participate in finance process improvement and system enhancement initiatives

Requirements

1. Degree in Accounting, Finance, or related discipline
2. Prior experience in finance operations or accounting within banking/financial services preferred
3. Familiarity with SAP or similar accounting systems
4. Good understanding of financial reporting and accounting principles
5. Proficient in Microsoft Excel and other MS Office applications
6. Strong attention to detail with good communication and coordination skills
