Engineering Industry | Growth Opportunity | Permanent PositionOur client is a well-established and growing organisation based in Mulgrave seeking a motivated Finance Officer / Assistant Accountant to join their finance team. This is a fully office-based position, providing the opportunity to work closely with senior finance leaders and gain exposure across accounts, payroll support, and reporting functions.
The RoleReporting to the Finance Team Leader, your responsibilities will include:
Accounts Payable (Major Focus)

• End-to-end Accounts Payable processing
• Supplier statement reconciliations
• Managing supplier queries and relationships
• Preparing and processing payment runs
• Ensuring invoices are accurately coded and approved
• Maintaining accurate records and compliance with company procedures

Payroll Support

• Assisting with payroll administration
• Collation and validation of timesheets and payroll data
• Data entry and payroll maintenance
• Supporting payroll processing and employee enquiries
• Working closely with the payroll function to ensure timely and accurate outcomes

Assistant Accounting & Reporting

Assisting with month-end processes

Account reconciliations and journal preparation

Supporting financial reporting and analysis

Preparing reports and financial data for senior stakeholders

Assisting with process improvements and ad hoc finance projects

About YouTo be successful, you will have:

Experience in a Finance Officer, Accounts Officer or Assistant Accountant role

Strong end-to-end Accounts Payable experience

Exposure to payroll administration or payroll support activities

Experience assisting with financial reporting and reconciliations

Previous experience using Pronto (highly regarded)

Strong attention to detail and accuracy

Excellent communication and stakeholder management skills

Intermediate Microsoft Excel skills
