Johanson, Fairless & Taylor, L.L.P., is a small-to-medium sized firm that specializes primarily in first- and third-party insurance defense. We handle a wide variety of personal injury, property damage, and breach of contract claims. We are seeking candidates for an associate attorney position at our Sugar Land, Texas office. This opportunity has the potential for growth with the firm based on performance and workflow. Day to Day Duties:
- Handle cases from inception to completion, including discovery, motion practice, depositions, attending court hearings, and mediation/ trial.
- Perform factual legal research, analysis, and document review.
- Work independently and collaboratively in fast-paced environment.
- Demonstrate attention to detail and excellent communication skills.
- Exercise strong time management and interpersonal skills.
Requirements
- Juris Doctor degree from an accredited law school and admission to practice law in Texas.
- Minimum of 3 - 5 years of experience in insurance defense law.
- Excellent legal research and writing skills.
- Able to manage a high-volume caseload and meet strict deadlines.
- Excellent interpersonal and communication skills, including the ability to effectively relate and interact with other attorneys and firm staff, opposing counsel, court personnel, and clients.
- Able to work independently, as well as part of a team.
- High ethical standards and professional integrity.
