The Role
We're looking for a detail-oriented, motivated Bookkeeper to join our team. Reporting to the Accounting Team Lead and/or senior accountants, you'll manage day-to-day bookkeeping for multiple client files, keeping records accurate, up to date, and prepared in accordance with Canadian accounting standards.
This role is ideal for a recent graduate or someone with foundational bookkeeping experience who is eager to grow in a professional firm environment.
Key Responsibilities
- Record and reconcile daily transactions, including accounts payable, accounts receivable, and bank reconciliations.
- Maintain accurate general ledgers across multiple client files.
- Maintain accounts payable and accounts receivable.
- Generate monthly, quarterly, and annual financial reports, including income statements and balance sheets.
- Assist with payroll processing.
- Assist senior accountants with year-end working paper preparation.
- Maintain organized digital and physical client files in accordance with firm standards.
Requirements
Qualifications Required
- Diploma or degree in Accounting, Business Administration, or a related field, or equivalent practical experience
- Proficiency with QuickBooks Online and the desktop version
- Solid working knowledge of Microsoft Excel and Office 365
- Understanding of basic accounting principles, including debits, credits, accruals, reconciliations, the nature of accounts, capital, assets, and liabilities.
- Exceptional attention to detail and accuracy
- Strong organizational skills with the ability to manage multiple files simultaneously.
- Professional written and verbal communication skills
- Eligible to work in Canada.
