Position Overview: The Senior Staff Accountant coordinates and assists the Controller in the financial preparation and oversight of all general ledger activity for the Agency and affiliated entities of GLSS.
Position Responsibilities: The Senior Staff Accountant will prepare monthly general ledger journal entries, maintaining all documentation in support of general ledger recording, ensuring all accounts are properly reconciled, assisting with month end close and account analysis, and preparing all financial reports including assisting the annual budget as required.

Requirements
Qualifications
*Bachelor's Degree in accounting, required
*Three (3) to five (5) years of direct accounting experience including general ledger experience required
*Must be able to apply knowledge of accounting and finance to manage financial transactions
*Accuracy in working with large amounts of data
*Effective documentation skills with the ability to complete documentation that is timely, accurate and comprehensive
*Strong verbal and written communication skills with the ability to establish and maintain positive and professional relationships with team members and other employees
*Professional demeanor with the ability to handle confidential information and documents with discretion and according to GLSS policy and HIPAA guidelines
*Ability to process information accurately and to make appropriate decisions based on the specific situations and circumstances
*Sage Intacct or similar fund accounting systems experience, preferred
*Knowledge of GAAP as they relate to the Note-for-Profit Sector required
*Advanced working knowledge of Microsoft Excel
*Demonstrates a strong work ethic, dependability and commitment to consistently meeting responsibilities and deadlines
