Description
A growing Northern Virginia CPA and advisory firm is seeking two motivated Tax & Accounting Professional to join our team. We provide a collaborative learning environment where professionals develop strong technical expertise while working directly with experienced CPAs and advisors. Our goal is to help our team members build rewarding long-term careers while delivering exceptional service to our clients. This is a full-time, in-office position located in Northern Virginia.
Our professionals offer specialized services to our client base, including:
- Tax planning and compliance,
- Individual, business, estate & trust, as well as nonprofit tax return preparation,
- Business consulting,
- Strategic planning,
- Outsourced CFO and advisory services, as well as
- Wealth management.
Our clients range from individuals and families to closely held businesses and high-net-worth taxpayers, providing opportunities for diverse and challenging work. Our deep knowledge of taxes, coupled with our comprehensive understanding of the equity markets, allows us to design tax-efficient wealth and legacy plans.
Our wealth management services are offered through our related entity, Empire Advisors Wealth Management, LLC.
Job Responsibilities
As a Senior Accountant, you will:
- Assist with services to our Outsourced CFO clients.
- Prepare federal and state tax returns for individuals and businesses.
- Assist with tax research and tax planning projects.
- Work directly with partners, managers, and clients.
- Develop technical and client-service skills through mentorship and hands-on experience.
Work Environment
We believe in working hard during peak periods while maintaining a sustainable work environment throughout the year. This is a full-time, in-office position. We believe working together in person supports mentorship, collaboration, professional development, and exceptional client service.
- Extended hours are expected during the busy season (January through April 15).
- Following the April tax deadline, our team typically works a four-day schedule (Monday through Thursday, four nine-hour days).
- Schedule adjustments may be required around the September and October tax deadlines.

Requirements
Candidate Requirements
- BS Accounting
- CPA License
- 3 - 5 years public accounting experience
- Strong analytical, organizational, and communication skills
- Strong technology skills, including proficiency with Microsoft Office (Excel, Word, Outlook, and Teams)
